    Description

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) File (SD02) is used by the designer to collate records of how safe design has been applied to the design project through each stage from pre-design to construction documentation.

The development and maintenance of a Work Health and Safety file for each design project is recommended as best practice in the Safe Design of Structures Code of Practice (2012).

This document can assist the designer to meet their duty to provide information to others. It should be kept in a file within the job folder titled “WHS Information” and accompanies all supporting documentation and evidence as well as documenting items that require further action. If there is more than one designer working on the project they can add information to this file so that it can be shared with other team members.
