CPTED – Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) uses urban and architectural design and the management of built and natural environments in an effort to prevent crime.
CPTED principles and practises seek to deter offender decisions that precede crime, reduce opportunities for victim based crimes and assault and build a sense of community amongst either residents or operators to reduce the incidence of crime.
Planning Design and Urban Management can play a large role in keeping towns, cities and structures safe – as do many other disciplines.
CPTED is a holistic approach that can require input from different disciplines.
Here at Safe Design Australia we offer a comprehensive approach to our CPTED reports from our specialist consultant. Contact us here for a fee proposal or with queries about a project.
